My La Rue Collection are all romantic street scenes that depict a late night moment in time. Its a street I tend to keep revisiting throughout my art journey, almost like returning to visit an old home. My AutoPlay collection depicts life as a working dad, trying to make sense of all the madness and everyday moments of chaos with little room to stop and breath. Saturday Morning havoc, parties, animals, babies, imagination, magic and mayhem are all thrown at the canvas with bold colour and high energy. Painted at night, between 9pm – 11pm.
The Tragical Collection features tragic, comedic moments, adding a slightly darker tone to suburban life. This is my first collection to feature text within the painting, and I’ve tried to use more washed out pastel colours with pops of neon and reoccurring objects such as the
checkered vase.
The A Still Life Collection was created using a mixture of free hand painting, and a press printing technique I developed using grease proof paper. The mix in techniques creates a beautiful ‘screen print’ type style but its a more painterly look.
The Wifi Banana Collection began during 2020 lockdowns. I wanted to depict a war in space over something nonsensical, to give me a chance to play around with techniques, layers and colours. Through this collection I honed my style and still intend to do more in the future, and the colours pop and the paint is thick, all on canvas with varnish.
